From 2014-2023, Brian served as the Deputy Director of the Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition (RHSC), a partnership of 500+ public entities, private corporations, and civil society organizations working together to ensure that everyone in low- and middle-income countries can access and use affordable, high-quality reproductive health supplies. In his role, he was responsible for co-managing the operations of the global Secretariat including strategy development and execution, fundraising and grant writing, external representation and public speaking. He supervised technical staff responsible for implementing global and regional initiatives focused on supply chain management, market dynamics and advocacy. He led private sector and European partner engagement as well as the RHSC’s operations in francophone Africa.
Brian also directed the planning of the organization’s annual General Membership Meeting which hosts 300+ participants from more than 50 countries over five days and takes place in a different city each year including Kathmandu, Brussels, Seattle, Oslo, and Mexico City.
Prior to joining the Coalition in June 2014, Brian worked for 11 years for Population Services International (PSI). This included serving as the Country Director in Madagascar, a program which had a $20 million annual budget from multiple donors and 300+ employees. During his tenure, he revitalized and strengthened the 10-year-old program with a new strategic plan, organizational restructuring and streamlined internal systems. Upon completion of this position, Brian was promoted to be the Deputy Director of the Southern Africa region where he co-supervised a multi-country portfolio with a $130 million annual operating budget and led the transition of a large-scale regional NGO project to a profitable commercial business which continues to grow year-on-year and serves as a model for similar operations in other regions. Based on his experience, he was invited to serve as a member of the global PSI strategic planning committee.
A dual citizen of the US and Belgium, Brian holds a master’s degree in international affairs and economics from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). He was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Guinea, West Africa.
